They lock the abm so you can’t deposit or withdraw money outside of the banks hours. Pointless and stupid policy.
Unbelievable that the ABMs are closed at 4:30 all week and 5:00 on Friday. The sign posted says its for “customer safety”. Really? I think its to limit access for a customer to their own money. What about people on shift work who can’t get to the branch during the day? Scotiabank obviously doesn’t value customer service. I’d give zero stars if I could.
All I want to do is have a quick conversation with a teller- and guess what? The doors are locked at the branch at 10 am on a weekday and there is a 20 min wait to make an appointment on the phone. Not cool. Edit 2026. I went to use the bank machine and discovered that it is only open during business hours. I thought that the point of bank machines is convenience. This shows that Scotia Bank doesn’t care about the convenience of the customer.
