The representative was very good and tried his best but Scotiabank has so many new rules and complex procedures that it is hard to plan. Mortgage rates are different online, through the call centre and at a branch. This was only a renewal. If I was to do a new mortgage I would go to a mortgage broker. I have been a loyal customer for over 40 years but relationships are meaningless in the banking world.
This is why people hate banks. On the rare occasion you have to go to the teller, only two windows are open doing lengthy transactions, the queue is out to the door (no exaggeration) while the 'manager' swans around trying to look important and avoiding eye contact with the dozen waiting customers. Not good enough for a bank thst made 7.5 BILLION DOLLARS profit last year. Hire some staff! And pay them properly!
