Probably the singular worst bank I've ever had the displeasure of working with. The only thing they process quickly is misunderstandings: took 5 days to attempt to resolve my fraud charge only to have them literally lie to me and refuse to assist me. Had to go to a different bank to have them call the fraud department to fix my issue. If competence were interest, they’d never accrue any, and if accountability were currency, they’d be bankrupt.
Came in for my FHSA withdrawal appointment and was told I needed a purchase-of-sale document, even though I had the official government withdrawal form. They refused to proceed. I went to another Scotiabank location in Plateau Gatineau today, and they completed the withdrawal in under 10 minutes using only the government form. Even the financial supervisor there was surprised and said she had never encountered that requirement. Clearly, this branch is not knowledgeable about the process. I got my account here in the mid 1990's. Before the building was torn down and rebuilt due to the LRT. No complaints. I appreciate still having a place (brick and mortar) to meet someone in person. It's nice seeing a security guard there. The guard always seems polite and professional.
Not sure what the point of a bank is that refuses to exchange physical cash if you aren't a client. Not surprised by the other low reviews of this place.
