Terrible experience, people working there don't know or care to deal with situations, if anything happens you'll be left on your own, which defeats the purpose of paying monthly fees for a service I surely haven't received. I'm only asking them to follow their procedures, which they seem to be unaware of. Change bank if you care about safety. I'll update this based on how this situation develops but for now I haven't found a single competent person at that branch
My experience at this branch was extremely disappointing. The level of service was far below expectations and reflects serious issues with both staff training and management. The “manager of the front line,” Shakhloh, demonstrated a clear lack of professionalism. Interactions felt dismissive, and there was little willingness to assist or properly address my concerns. Probably the singular worst bank I've ever had the displeasure of working with. The only thing they process quickly is misunderstandings: took 5 days to attempt to resolve my fraud charge only to have them literally lie to me and refuse to assist me. Had to go to a different bank to have them call the fraud department to fix my issue. If competence were interest, they’d never accrue any, and if accountability were currency, they’d be bankrupt.
Came in for my FHSA withdrawal appointment and was told I needed a purchase-of-sale document, even though I had the official government withdrawal form. They refused to proceed. I went to another Scotiabank location in Plateau Gatineau today, and they completed the withdrawal in under 10 minutes using only the government form. Even the financial supervisor there was surprised and said she had never encountered that requirement. Clearly, this branch is not knowledgeable about the process.
