We had a wonderful visit, it’s beautiful in the rain and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful for my friend’s accessibility needs, thank you Fiona and the rest of the team!
It was nice enough. They won't let you take pictures which is fine. But they have all their family snaps out which I feel is a bit weird and uncomfortable. Enjoyed the history and the grandeur of the place though. The gardens were a bit sparse but thats probably an April issue rather than an actual issue. But the garden did seem to have a fungus issue.
Wonderful garden walks through both formal garden areas and the Pinetum. Lots of bird life, squirrels,both red and grey,rabbits and roe deer. Walking through the forest is extremely peaceful, although I was there at a quiet time of day. Brian Cunningham, the head gardener,is very knowledgeable. The maze is good fun also. Nice visit to Scone palace. Had never been before. Lovely estate and grounds. Good to learn about history of the place.
