Lovely place to spend a couple.of hours, stories and anecdotes about the QM fascinating. Really would recommend to anyone passing to visit

I'm not usually bothered enough to write reviews, but in this case I had to write one about the excellent docents and guides at Scone Palace. Both of the two guides we interacted with were extremely helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. Their telling of the palace history was accessible and engaging and really made the history come alive for us. A fantastic venue to visit with patient, knowledgeable and welcoming guides. The absolute highlight of the visit was chatting to the lovely baker in the cafe about his scones, which were just perfection - light and super tasty. He gave us so many tips on how they make them. We were tempted to have half a dozen, they were so good.
A little bit disappointed by the place, it’s obviously wonderful but the gardens aren’t that impressive it’s more like a forest with plants, flowers and a vegetable garden inside. The interior is opulent with elegant elements but the visit is quite short especially for that price
