Karen has been instrumental in helping myself and my child to cope with our anxiety issues. She has a calming, reassuring presence that lends itself so perfectly to counseling and I truly feel so much better after every session. She provides thoughtful feedback and has made me feel so much less alone since I started seeing her during the pandemic. I am especially grateful that Karen booked an urgent session after her normal work hours to call my child by phone when they were having a difficult time.
Dr. Schorer treated me when I was a teenager. Not only was the care incredibly culturally ignorant, she accused me of lying about my traumatic past and forced me to have therapy with those who had traumatized me in the room. She additionally lied about her own treatment suggestions, which I took, and then backtracked. She does not believe kids of color when they speak on their trauma. She uses institutions to intimidate said children. Do not seek her treatment.
