Recently, I chartered the Schooner American Eagle for our 22-member family to celebrate the big birthdays of my wife and I. We had a fantastic, 6-day Maine cruise that included The Great Schooner Race. We had a cruise that far exceeded our expectations and we can whole-heartedly recommend this boat and crew for anyone seeking a fun time on an antique Maine Schooner. Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Spending a week aboard the breathtaking American Eagle schooner with 24 family members was a phenomenal adventure that we will never forget! This was the trip of a lifetime! The captain, Tyler King, knows his boat inside and out and is an incredibly sailor and a wonderful guy! He even read us sailor stories one night and sang and played the guitar to serenade us to sleep! 4 nights on the American Eagle. Excellent opportunity to sail on a tall ship in and around Penobscot Bay....stopping overnight at various coves.... Quarters are small but comfortable. Staff top notch. Cooks provides excellent meals via a wood burning stove. Lobster bake on a beach was everything you needed.... Hiking on several islands were available as was a morning walk around the small Town of Castine Maine
