This was the first Walking Tour I've done and I've lived in NM for 50 years! It was absolutely fantastic! From the moment the class started until we finished up at the last of 4 restaurants it was just superb. We went to 4 restaurants (Market Steer, Horno, Joe's Tequila Bar and Boxcar) and were treated so well by each and every one. We learned so much about the unique character of each restaurant. Took a visiting relative to the hand's-on "Taco Feat" class. This was my first time at SFSofC but have attended other cooking classes on travels. Pros: The final results were delicious. Our classmates of all ages were a delight. Cons: 21 people in the class was far too crowded. not enough counter space. Each person was only able to do 1-3 hands-on steps due to the number of people/lack of space. The last hour the class and the Chef instructor were quite rushed. Class ran a half hour overtime. We attended the Southwest Sauces class. We had an enjoyable time but there were several hiccups! I was disappointed that ingredients were missing for all three recipes (no habaneros for mango habanero mustard, no lime or acid for green salsa, one of the 3 pepper varieties called for were missing, no agave, etc.), ingredients were not placed on the right trays, measuring cups with the needed measure were not provided (had to guess at 1/3 cup), etc. While I understand that salsas are infinitely customizable, it was a let-down ... read more

Magical experience, delicious outcomes, and an accurate history lesson of food anthropology. Incredible, I'm going to attend some form of cooking class every other month because the obsession has begun.
