We had fun overall, but our experience with the private lessons at Santa Barbara Aquatics was disappointing. We signed up for eight individual sessions, and unfortunately the program was not flexible at all, we needed to reschedule urgently once, and it was impossible. I was also hoping for a more individualized approach. My daughter already felt comfortable in the water, and I expected the instructor to build on that and teach her new skills. I have an upcoming snorkeling trip where I wanted to buy gear that I can also use for eventually becoming Scuba certified. I know nothing about this world and on my first visit I had my friend who dives avidly accompany me. Collin was super helpful in finding me the right mask, explaining the differences in fins, and getting me outfitted for all my gear.
