One star is too generous. Do not retain Carey. She consistently filed documents late and missed deadlines, which caused important information not to be obtained. I had to follow up constantly because she was disorganized and forgetful — even after phone calls, she wouldn’t remember what was discussed. One star rating is way to high. This individual was assigned to my case. She never met with me a single time to work on my case prior to preliminary hearing. After the preliminary was no different. I was the only one who made any attempts to meet on my case. I sat in her office for an hour as her secretary attempted to make contact with her. She is worthless as attorney and a person in general. She should be disbarred from practicing law in the State Of North Dakota.
If I could pick Carey to be my lifetime attorney I would in a heartbeat. I was treated better than family and felt that my best interest was top priority. Thank you Goetz Fischer LLP!
She will waste your time and money! When you ask for updates they dont respond. She puts you on the back burner (and tells you she has all these trials to attend to, on vacation, etc) until the 11th hr but still charges you in the mean time. And when you call her out on it or make a complaint, she will throw her weight around and make you responsible for her incompetence and unprofessionalism but then later gives you fake apologies and promises to be better.
