This cruise on the Erie Canal was perhaps the highlight of our trip to Rochester. The boat travels up and through the lock, and then turns around and comes back to Pittsford. We had expert and personable commentary by our guide, Thea. It didn't hurt that we had a lovely day, but I think this trip would be worth taking even in poor weather.
My wife and I enjoyed touring the Erie Canal aboard the Sam Patch, especially being raised and lowered in the canal lock. What was most enjoyable was the story told by the canal boat guide, who combined facts with stories and humor. Don't think he'll be able to get you to sing "Fifteen Miles on the Erie Canal"? Think again. Great fun!
Staff was absolutely wonderful! Would highly recommend it to all of my friends and family! 💕👍😊
