Disgusting customer service. Rude, unhelpful, and difficult to deal with. Asked to swap a tool that was wrong size, unused and in packaging still. Couldn't swap so I asked for a refund Owner made it out to be the end of the world and that it was too hard to process. A few seconds later it was all processed, and not hard at all. I've always came in to try and support you as a local bike shop in the bay, never again I'll be recommending others to go elsewhere and online.
The staff there are hopeless expect one person who was great, I took my bike in one day and asked them how long it would take to do a service he told me rudely “You can see how busy I am right now mate” but as i walked in he was on his phone, never going back to this place
Top-notch bike shop! I recently moved to Nelson Bay a few weeks ago, and I’m so glad I found this place. The bike mechanic is an absolute legend – super skilled and friendly. I brought in my road bike for a repair, and they had it sorted in no time. The service is top-notch, and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers and bikes. If you’re in the area and need anything bike-related, I couldn’t recommend this shop more. Cheers for the brilliant help – I’ll definitely be back!”

After spending a few weeks visiting bikes shops in the Newcastle area looking for a new bike for my son I gave Salamander Cycles a call, Richard couldn’t do enough to help, he wasn’t pushy, listened to what I wanted and come back to me with multiple options, all over the phone as I am not from the area. Once I chose the bike it was ordered and I picked up within the week, great service by Richard.
