I went for the first time to get ingredients for yum gai yang, and I liked it a lot! I also tried mangosteen for the first time in my life after waiting 3 years to try. One of the best days of my life.
I had a very positive experience during my first visit to Saigon Market. I would not have known that the lycium berries were what I needed, listed in tonight's Ginseng Chicken Soup recipe as goji berries, if I did not receive such prompt and courteous assistance. Of course, I did find the ginger root, and I was especially thrilled to find gorgeous daikon, which I love in daikon-carrot refrigerator pickles, so easy to make and delicious!
