An absolutely relevant alternative to Walmart! I must write this review. The preceding review does an great injustice to Safeway by comparing it only to Walmart. This store does just fine when compared to like stores (Albertsons, King Soopers, etc.) Many times it even trumps its compitition. That is until you bring Walmart into the picture.
Mr. Garry Duncan Safeway is one of the best grocery stores in our area. They have the best meat and produce on the Eastern shore. Cant wait until the new store opens in a few months. Should be even better.
Safeway Store I love the newly remodeled Safeway. It is definately more upscale; the veggie dept. feels like an open air market, the free samples of the Yummy soup are welcomed, and I love the expanded meat, and deli departments. BUT, I am NOT happy about on almost every aisle encountering another "friendly" employee who asks me how I am today and if I need help finding something. The deal is, I don't mind hearing it if I LOOK lost, or if I am searching for something, but for the most part, if I can't find something, I will ... read more

Nice new market I'm so glad this new Safeway has opened so close to home. They have an excellent selection with many full-service departments. There are always employees around to help, but I don't understand why there are never enough people to bag groceries. I always have to bag my own. Why is that?

groceries! Sometimes when I got shopping with my mother she lets me sit in the cart and pushes me around while I grab stuff off the sheleves manically! The employees don't seem to mind at all.
Awesome Pharmacy!! Safeway's Pharmacy in Richland, WA. is wonderful!!! They are very knowledgable and friendly. They always answer my questions and help find over the counter medicines I might need. I would trust them any time!
Needs better organization. There are not many grocery stores in St. Helens, but Safeway is the grocery store I have chosen to shop at. While they have a good selections of items, it is sometimes hard to find what you are looking for. I also notice they let merchandise pile up in the isles making it harder to get around and the labels above the isles are somewhat misleading. The bakery and deli is great.
