The in takers don’t care about you. They won’t tell you if they have rooms available or not. They just want to be nosy. They are suppose to help battered women and they literally just put them down because their egos are too big. I would never recommend this place or donating! Their whole basement is filled with empty officers that could be used as extra rooms!

My time at safehabor was amazing the staff did an amazing job with advocating for me and helping me get my apartment I was 7 mo. pregnant when I came they were so loving and understanding and wholesome and every single staff was amazing they uplifted me when I needed it and they protected me from my abuser they advocated when it came to housing and I got in my apartment 5 months later of me entering safe harbor play made me feel safe they made me feel comfortable and most of all they make my baby feel comfortable as well I j... read more
Twice I’ve needed assistance from safe harbor once because I had been sexually assaulted by a member of the community high on drugs the first time I was told that because I lived in a locked building it wasn’t a problem and they kicked me out the second time I was told because my abuser was in jail with $150 bond they considered me to be “safe” I wouldn’t recommend safe harbor to anyone. I finally had gotten the courage to call & get in and talk with somebody after my traumatic event. the lady on the phone was condescending & told me she “didn’t know how we could help you” which shattered my confidence & made me feel unwelcomed of course. sad to see that others have had the same experience when this is supposed to be a safe place.
