No more disgusting exhaust fumes - now electric. Have lived here quite a while and learned things about the canyon that I did not know. Our driver, Alex, was especially entertaining. The service does need to started much earlier in the summer though.( Now 9:00).
There's a tram once an hour, so if you just missed it, you'll have to wait an hour. If you just walk along the trails from the visitor center, the views are just of more desert that you can basically see from anywhere else. The staff was very polite, and they have a tiny gift shop. Not really worth going out of your way for as a tourist.
Bear Canyon trolley is for hikers only.
