I'm giving them 3 stars as that's about half. The staff are wonderful but another change in something, maybe management, has made staff be pushed further than they can and they are unhappy. Leaving a lot thinking of leaving. The other thing that I don't like, is that only 1 person is on their own in one of the ward's for an hour on their own in the morning when everyone needs the toilet. My wife is a resident of Royal Freemasons Mount Martha Valley. The care the staff give is great with a pleasant attitude to all. The food is always sufficient and nourishing. I leave after visiting knowing she is looked after with the care and dignity she deserves

My father was in Royal freemasons For over 4 years It was good at the start but change Management and went down hill. He was assaulted by a person visiting someone else and had broken bones. No witnesses and we found out no CCV cameras worked in the premises in common areas. He was in the dementia ward, when he was given palliative care. The last few hours we had other dementia patients walking in and out his room while families member's were trying to saying their goodbyes. This place deserves a low rating due to the fact that their staff are not trained properly to recognise declining residents. Also never enough staff and training provided so staff cannot provide the care that families are told their loved ones will get. Was a nice facility about 10 years ago but no longer
