As of this posting, this museum appears to be permanently closed. We attempted to visit it today, as well as other families, but we were all unable to get in, with no indication that they wouldn't be open. A kind bartendress at the nearby tavern said the Carnegie Museum has taken in a lot of the telephone museum exhibit items.
Apparently the Museum is permanently closed. Would love to know if this is actually true. If so, this is heartbreaking.
This place was a fantastic place to visit. Things for kids to do, lots of helpful docents to answer questions and demonstrate things! Highly recommend! The only downside is that it’s only open the first Saturday of the month from 10 am - 2 pm. Lots of parking nearby too!!
This museum is such a hidden gem! Highly recommend! One of the docents actually worked on one of the machines they have on display, back in the 80s, so she had firsthand knowledge about it. They gave us a demo of the big switchboard in the back, because it still works! We had such a fun time and I would go back again, if it was open more regularly.
