The people they allow to work for this organization are horrible people. They will not address this, only stating that it isn't their problem. They should not be paid by public dollars.
The Senior Centers offering dinners and providing for the meals on wheels program earned 5 stars but now I KNOW the RCCOA doesn't really give a hoot for anyone's suffering! They took away the ability to get take home meals while changing rules that hurt those of us who cannot get out everyday!! Plus they are quick to take away any housekeeping every time they encounter financial strain... this happened last Nov and still has not been refreshed... if you need a housekeeper.. all I can say is good luck!! Meals on wheels is a very good service. I have mixed feelings about the home visits (they could have the seniors talk about their lives instead of the visiter talking about hers). I can't say what they offer otherwise. I do know that I, and many others, are not happy when the COA closes an APS case without getting to know the elderly people first. Two short visits is Not enough to assess abilities or lack of! MAT-special ed-LD
Great care for our elderly. I have learned that sometimes the council on aging needs to do things that we might not understand, but they have a person's best interest in mind.
