Will never walk through their doors I have to agree with John F. I??ve shopped at the store, as well as similar places, and I have to say that their food, prices and service are no better, if not inferior, to other stores. I also have heard how they treat their employees. It??s no wonder they??re unfriendly and unhelpful, as they??re clearly not happy working there. Hence, the high turnover. I??m sticking with Whole Foods because of the location, as well as the above reasons.
ARE THEY STILL IN BUSINESS? I have been a frequent customer of Roots over the past several years solely because of its location. The selection is well thought out, however the pricing is obscene. Trader Joe's, My Organic Market, David's and sometimes even Giant can beat almost any price at Roots Market. Great discovery! I was delighted to stumble upon this store while house-hunting in the area. Looking forward to being a regular customer after moving into the area. They also carry Organic Valley chocolate soy milk which I can't find anywhere in Virginia! Only complaint is no meat and fish counter. I hope they expand to include these!
Roots Market is great natural foods market! Great selection of whole foods, including many dietary needs like diabetics or gluten intolerant. Prices are comparable to a regular grocery store. The seminars they do are really nice and helpful!
This is my favorite health food store. They have the most comprehensive organic produce section. And its always fresh and they have samples, a lot of samples out on weekends. ENJOY!
Natural Foods Market with Great Selection My only complaint about Roots Market is too far from my house to go every week! They have a wonderful, fresh produce section that is filled with everything you might want, as well as some you may have never heard of! Healthier options Roots Market is a welcome addition to the Howard County health food scene. They have distinguished themselves by carrying products that are not available at other health food stores -- such as DeLand Bakery millet products, and Trickling Springs Creamery BOTTLED (yep, glass!) milk products. They also carry a brand of Greek yogurt I haven't seen anywhere else. It is smooth, not bitter/tangy like American yogurts.
