I've been to a very popular shop needing to raise the handlebar stems of my daughters' bikes to no avail. I had the parts but they said it was the wrong size & they did not have the parts - quite shocking when I bought the bikes from the same shop. I wasted almost 2 weeks due to their incompetence. Update 10/2025 - I brought my bike for changing chain and maybe some other works. So they said the condition of many parts is terrible and it's better to buy a new bike. Ok then, as they didn't know when the parts are coming and when I can collect my bike if they going to do service, Tu We or who knows, I took my bike home. But then I realised I can't cycle home (I was walking for 5-10 minutes) = the sit was lifted very very high, so I had to come back and ask them to make things right. Really impressed - had a puncture on way to work, so called in to get a new inner tube. Was going to do myself, but they were able to do there and then and the price was so good, I couldn't say no... 10/15 mins later, chap came to find me in coffee shop and new inner tube and 2 new tyres (as they were completely shot) all done! Great stuff.
