We had new carpet installed 5 years ago and had to replace it all. Found out later they didn’t replace our tack strip so none of our carpet stayed in place. It was so heartbreaking to waste that money. We ended up replacing our floors with laminate. When we moved our furniture out none of the carpet was even attached to the tack strip. We went from a low pile carpet to a high quality plush carpet and paid extra for a plush pad finding out the tack strip was never going to hold our carpet in place.
