Wife and I are new retirement age residents to Rockbridge Co. Had to pay personal property taxes on vehicles which we recently relocated to the county. Unfortunately I arrived at lunch time but to my surprise both the Treasurer and Commissioner of Revenue offices were on duty. Personnel in both service windows were very helpful and courteous. The young lady at the Commissioner of Revenue window agreed to drop late fees since we were not residents until 12/25. Saved us $50 which we donated to Rockbridge Area Transportation Se... read more

Worst service I’ve ever experienced from a county treasurer. So thankful we’re moving out of this county.

This place is just the limit! If you want to pay over the phone it's a charge. The bills come early in the month and if you want to get them in on time you have to go in there, they can't wait for you to get your SS check and get it in. No grace period, no modern payment methods. This office is as old timey as their tourist trap. All the funds go to the tourist areas and none for the outside. Broken sidewalks with weeds growing out, pavement faded and broken for years on end, no accessibility for the handicapped. Get real fo... read more
