I hired Robert Merz to prepare my 2025 taxes. My return was filed under the wrong filing status. When I called to report the error, the receptionist confirmed it would be corrected and promised a follow-up call. That call never came. Despite multiple follow-up attempts over a full week, I never received a response from anyone at the firm and the error was never corrected. I'm not handling the situation on my own. I cannot recommend this firm.
Terrible. He messed up my family's taxes. (Marked someone who passed away as living.) We called him the same day when we realized the mistake. He said he'd get back in touch. That was 6 weeks ago. Now we are dealing directly with the IRS to straighten out this mess. We are also filing a complaint with the IRS, NC state attorney general, and BBB.
