I have been a resident of river oaks nursing / rehab facility since April 29th , 2005 . From my 6mths of being here I have had a few complaints but my needs and care have been very well met by the staff , nurses , cna's occupational physical therapist and the socialworkes .. My mom mysteriously died there. She was completely paralyzed from a stroke and one day after being there for 17 years she fell out of her wheelchair in her room. She was alone supposedly. They said she fell forward out of her chair and hit the floor so hard she went into a coma and died. She had not fallen out of her wheelchair in 17 years. Yeah,figure that one out????

I want to thank River Oaks for their wonderful care for my husband. The staff was kind and caring, professional and attentive. They were available for me to communicate with them at any time, and they walked me through all the steps of his care while spending time with me to answer all my questions. They were a lifeline for my husband's needs. If needed, I would definitely contact them again for care for him.

If you value the life of your loved one please DO NOT let them reside there. I am convinced that their malpractice and neglect is a large contributor to my mother's recent passing. There may have been 1 or 2 good aides and nurses but the majority were so cruel to my mother. I found out that some openly mocked her pain and cries for help. No one deserves to be treated with such disrespect. The actual medical care she received was also horrid. The most unprofessional DON I have come across in a decade of nursing. Rude, demeaning, racist, and inconsiderate…I will be letting the Boards know as well. It’s healthcare and we just can’t treat people or patients how we please.
