I had a simple small claims filing and process service and they misled me into believing their service was flat fee. I asked in 3 separate emails to notify me of any additional charges for my orders from first contact and they never did but continued billing my card without authorization. My office received an emergency request for order, and we had a short turn around time to craft a response. Per Mendocino County Local rules, oppositions to emergency requests have to be physically filed by 10:00am the day before the court considers the pleadings. Seems like a scam? Paid the initial fee to file but it showed an error code. Called as instructed just to have an answering service take a message for a person named Nicole. No call back for hours. When I called back, she wanted an additional $40 to ‘investigate’ the error code and resubmit, explaining in great detail the additional fee.
