Long time prescription customer however my 18 year old was denied purchase of cold medicine that he needed for his father. Manager Jimmy informed me Rite Aid Monroe Street Sylvania, OH does not follow Ohio law of being 18 to purchase items that containing dextromethorphan. He stated Rite Aid store policy is age 21. I will now be going elsewhere for my prescription/pharmacy needs.
It was a wonderful place to go to, I'm going to miss that place.
We've been using this pharmacy for many years and have always been treated courteously. Pharmacists and techs are helpful and willing to answer questions and concerns. Since the pandemic they've had times where they are understaffed (who hasn't?) but they still do their best to accommodate everyone.
I have had bad experiences with this Rite Aid pharmacy. From being ignored while at the drive through (even after sitting there for 10 min, hitting the call button, honking the horn), to waiting for an hour so that my 92 year old mom could get a flu shot, only to find out that they had lost her paperwork, to having to return to tell them they didnt give me everything during my first trip (the paperwork was given to me - just not the drug). I dont understand why this store cant be run more competently. Very frustrating.
Pharmacists and technicians are very nice and caring. Most know us well by now and know who and what we are picking up for or what we may need filled.
