The Rio Fresh Lone Star Seedless watermelon I bought at Walmart looked good to me. It was round and dark green, but small. I asked if there were any larger watermelons for sale. The employee said they cut all of the large ones to sell as slices. When I cut open the melon it was obvious that it was half grown, not ripe. It's also obvious that whoever harvested the watermelon can't tell tell a ripe one from an not ripe one any better than I can.
