Staff not welcoming to tourists. Won’t be visiting Richmond again thanks to IGA experience. Signs in car park say it is for paying customers only. That’s fair for a small town. So, went in & spent $15. However, staff then came out to car park & DEMANDED we vacate car park immediately? Sign doesn’t say parking ONLY for as long as you shopping. Happy to take tourist money but then force them out of car park? Not very welcoming or reasonable if not being upfront.
During my travels around Australia, I’ve experienced countless warm welcomes from local communities—until I stopped at Richmond. After shopping at IGA, I briefly walked across the road to buy a takeaway coffee, only to be aggressively approached by a staff member from Richmond Village Store, demanding I move my car immediately. Went for a quick drive to Richmond on our way back from Launceston. The village was busing with people outdoor music was played at the pub, wich serving great meals. Richmond is worthy to visit.
Excellent. Very friendly Staff and wonderful Service. a great place to stop while touring Tassie. Well Done
