I've been taking my 2008 nissan pathfinder to Richardson discount tire and automotive for almost 2 years and my experience left me dumbfounded. My air filter was never changed and my car started having a littany of problems due to the collateral damage that was caused by thier neglect. After spending thousands of dollars to fix the problems caused by a clogged air filter I finally had enough and took it for a second opinion just to find out all it was the whole time was a dirty air filter. I contacted the shop and asked the manager named Ash why my air filter was never changed and how they can properly diagnose a car without making sure to check the air filter just to get yelled at ignored and hung up on several times. Here is a small recap of problems caused by this shops neglect. Radiator replaced. New radiator constantly refilled with coolant even though no leak. Battery dies after 1 year. Gas mileage went from 18mpg to 6mpg. Car would stall randomly while driving. They said to fix the camshaft sensor because that was causing the problems. Had to replace all spark plugs. Would pay for synthetic oil and see that the sticker on the car for oil maintenance has normal oil and when asking about it they just say they put wrong stucker. Now he said I needed a new intake and fuel pump. I got a second opinion and all it was was the air filter. Tell me how these shops are able to get away with whatever they want? It's ridiculous.
