In 1949, Richard purchased used furniture from individuals in the greater Lawrence area and from the auctions in Boston. Shortly thereafter, Richard started selling new furniture. In 1954, Richard's moved to Archer Street, in 1964 Richard's outgrew the Archer Street location and purchased the old Lawrence wholesale drug building at 25 Water Street, where Richard's sells only brand new name brand home furnishings. Over the years I have purchased numberous items at this site. I would highly resommend a trip to the store before going to a large furniture store. Two of the couches and chairs I purchased were almost new big brand names. The price was right and the delivery people were excellent.
