I spoke with Gateway Mortgage's Customer Service over the phone today and was exceptionally disappointed to be told that their process for PMI removal will only take into account (a) the percentage paydown on the original loan amount or (b) a list of improvements done to the property totaling the difference between the principle balance and 80% of the original value. I was on medical leave without, I called and spoke with an agent snc advise them what day the payment would be in that customer service agent advise me for incorrect information causing a negative impact on my credit reporting. I had a manger review the call and the manger agreed as well I was to misinformation however they can’t remove the late payment off of my credit reporting. I worked complete hard to maintain a perfect credit and this last payment made my credit score decreased.

I have been a loyal outstanding paying mortgage holder for Gateway over 5 years. I recently had an issue with my bank returning Decembers payment. I never received a call or letter telling my I was passed my grace period or my payment was late. My mom was very ill on ventilator at the time so I didn't get to check to see what cleared on my bank I just assumed it went through or else they would have to call. I am the seller in a loan being provided by Gateway and the loan had been in the works for 50 days and closing was cleared yesterday. Today we got word from a Gateway manager they decided not to move forward with the loan due to it being a single wide mobile home. This has been known the whole time. How does a company make that decision at day 50? The amount for people's time was wasted, money lost from the realtor to the closing compony and including me. 1 star because that's the least I could give. This company is horrible and it seems like they have no experience. They lie and stall things out for no good reason. No matter who recommends them, DONT USE THEM. They don't know what they're doing.

Worst experience ever. Would not refer this company to my worst enemy. So disorganized and no communication. We have been trying to close on our home since September and now we are in February and was just told the lady that has been giving us the run around or not returning our calls no longer works here so not they waisted 6 months and this process shouldn't have taken this long we have gotten know where and now have to start all over with another lending company. Do not give this mortgage co your money. Their customer service is exceptionally horrid. They will not proceed your tax documents when you email them to you and play games with you. It is one of the worst run companies I've come across.

After 5 years Gateway transferred our loan to another lender. We were approved for the Covid-19 forbearance on 04/03/2020 until October 2020. Luckily we had still been making payments because as soon as I received the letter from Gateway I called to make sure that the forbearance would still be in effect with the new servicer. I was assured that all paperwork transferred with my loan and besides making payments with a new servicer I would feel no hiccups with the transition.
