Sumac Lodge was built to 1970's standards AND is now 50 years old. Replacement of the physical structure is many years past due. OK. . . it is a bit of a dump. BUT there is something special going on there. The front line staff are exceptional. They care for the residents like family. AND they treat each other with the same respect and care. Hi My mom is there waiting to be moved to another facility. I cannot say enough about the staff. I would give the staff a five but the building a three. It is not their fault but the facility needs a major update. The building is very disappointing as far as size of rooms and the fact that you can't take any personal stuff when they have to share a room.

You are only as good as your staff. Some excellent PSWs and nurses like many facilities but not enough. Facility needs a great deal to make it more comfortable for the residents. Management does not care.
