My father was a resident at Elginwood for over 3 years. They did their best to get the residents involved in games, activities, special occasions, music, etc. The care provided by one nurse in particular, Huda, was exemplary. She took the time to get to know my father, and to listen to him even when his ability to speak deteriorated. Her care and compassion made a huge difference in my father's experience and end of life.

I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for Mirette Gurges, the Social Service Worker at Elginwood Long-Term Care, where my mother receives care. Mirette is truly an amazing person who puts her heart and soul into her work. She is incredibly caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, and attentive. My dad spent the last few months of his life at Elginwood, and I’m incredibly grateful for the care he received. The staff were always kind, patient, and respectful, and they treated my mom and the rest of our family like family too. Most importantly, they made the last months of my dad’s life feel peaceful, comfortable, and dignified, which meant so much to all of us. We’ll always be thankful for the compassion and care they showed him.
