April, 2026 It has been a year since Dad passed and two months after he did, Mum suffered a heart attack! Once again we reached out to the Manor for respite care, which evolved into over-the-winter care and now this is Mum's permanent home, by her choice. We spent over two months touring retirement homes until we finally found this gem of a residence. The staff are longterm and devoted, management is professional and invested, everyone absolutely goes above and beyond. The key to finding a good home is if you walk into the lobby and it's crowded with residents, avoid the ones that look like a ghost town. I would highly recommend the Barrhaven Manor to anyone looking for a safe, caring and well run residence for your parent or loved one. It will be a wonderful place for your loved one to call home!
Barrhaven Manor was home for Dad for his final 7 months. He transitioned seamlessly from assisted respite care, to palliative care, to end-of-life care. The entire staff treated Dad, Mum and I with the utmost respect and care. The Manor PSW's and Carefor PSW's showed Dad such love and dignity and they are all so much appreciated for their hard work and dedication as Dad declined. This is the best place! When I came in to stay I was very apprehensive but the staff went out of their way to make me feel good. I learned this is a fantastic place and well worth the stay. They gave me excellent treatment, helped me with everything. I highly recommend this place!
