I am a cancer patient, and earlier today I called to confirm that it was okay for me to come in for my treatment. I was assured that everything was fine. However, upon arrival, I was told that I could not receive any treatment. It’s difficult to express how disheartening and hurtful this experience was. To make the effort to come in, only to be turned away after receiving prior confirmation, felt incredibly unfair and insensitive — especially given my condition.
