I’m really disappointed with how my account was handled. There was zero communication as I got close to my “same as cash” deadline. I was only about $200 away from paying off my furniture and then, out of nowhere, my balance jumped to around $1,600. Part of that is on me for not tracking it perfectly, but I was making extra payments specifically to hit the same-as-cash window, and the store knew that. Tim, the store manager at Penn Yan has me down as a skip out, stolen item with my social security number. States on the record that he doesn't have to furnish me with any documentation. We'll see what exhaustion of remedies has I say about it. ... from The Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs to the NY State Attorney General up to and including a Civil Court Judge - has to say about slander and falsifying business records.
