The General Manager (who was not a nurse) put together one of the best aged care teams I have seen. Up till now the center is well run and the staff mostly attentive. Management at the tops sets any organizational culture so I hope their standards continue to operate above expectations.
My Nanna was here 6 yrs ago and I have a cert 3 individual support and Age care and disability and also going into my RN ba Nursing Science what I have been taught and looking back at the facility in Salisbury it's seems to be a very incompetent care and yes I have had personal experience with some of the reviews made that I've read and agree it's a money making opportunity rather than for patient / resident/client/ participants centred care . Dad is receiving the care that we would hope for by the staff at Salisbury Regis. Everyone seems very kind, friendly and helpful. He's settling in quite well.
I do not recommend this facility for either employment or care. Based on direct experience within the organisation, there were consistent concerns regarding both staff wellbeing and resident care standards. Non-clinical staff — such as kitchen and laundry workers — were frequently asked to assist with care-related tasks despite not holding a Certificate III in Individual Support. Relative, with poor sight in her 90s catches taxis from this facility, or when she is out, to my home- she exhibits challengeing behaviour eg standing on the road screaming in the dark and hitting out at people. She has caught taxis to her old address and knocked on neighbours doors, neighbours who no longer live at the address so someone she doesn't know opens the door.
