Lots of products are old and past recommended date! Its happened so many times its frightening! We're talking years...although it had gotten better in the last year or so. NOW in the last month I've purchased Mayo (expired 2 months prior) as well as a favorite cookie pack that was well past its "sell by" date...it took eating a few of the cookies before I realized they tasted funny.
