In 1970, Earl and Mary Redner bought two small supermarkets near Reading, Pa., and started the first chain of employee-owned supermarkets in Pennsylvania. The stores were operated as IGA Food Stores franchises until 1979, when the company began operating its stores under the name Redner's Markets. RUDE EMPLOYEES Everytime I go there, the workers are so RUDE. My family now has a nick name for the rude lady whose always working. Stay away from "Nasty Nancy" because you will leave there aggitated and frustrated. Can not get over how rude they are.

Rude Staff, Long Lines - Not worth the 'low' prices. On occasion, I have gotten some great deals at Redners however, the overall shopping experience is not worth the savings. No matter what time of day I went, I always seemed to encounter long lines and cashiers who would rather talk to each other and carelessly bag your items than give good service.
Grocery Store experience We love the great prices of Redners and convenience since they are open 24 hours. The employees however are polite at best. I would reccomen this store to anyone who needs something in a hurry , but not looking for anything too special.
