Big thanks to Mike from Red Cap Marine & Salvage LLV for helping us out. Our engine died while we were on our way a bit south of Isle Lamotte. It was blowing 20 knots gusting 25-30 knots. We called him for help and he answered immediately. We agreed to sail up to the Plattsburgh Boat Bassin and offshore, in front of the Marina. We took the sails down and he towed us. Seriously as good as it gets… and then some! We called Red Cap at 9:00am on a blustery day to help us recover our boat after a line snap and a beaching…. Mike was there in 20 minutes with a full and clearly communicated plan to recover the boat quickly to minimize damage from the sand. Within 45 minutes of our initial call, he had the boat back floating and under power.
