I am extremely disappointed with the unprofessional and discriminatory service I received from SOFIA and the manager at this branch. Despite being an RBC client for nearly 3 years, my experience today was insulting. I booked an appointment to open a personal account and credit card to build my credit score. Safia provided world class client care during my account activation process today. Safia remained diligent furthermore upon my return later that day to clarify some paperwork even though in meetings with other clients she again made herself available to make sure that I was well taken care of in a timely manner which I truly appreciated! I visited an RBC branch to inquire about opening a credit card. The agent, Sofia, told me that she couldn’t proceed unless I closed my existing CIBC credit card. This was surprising, as closing a card with a good credit history can harm your credit score. I found this approach disappointing — it seemed the agent either didn’t want to assist or didn’t understand how credit history works. Meanwhile, other banks have been proactively offering me credit cards.
DISCRIMINATION by RBC MANAGER ALEX, i came to get a demand draft for a deposit made by my insurance company, to pay my scotia loan, I was wearing my sunglasses, instead of asking me to remove it for purpose of identifying, he made a comment saying ‘what is with the glasses, had a surgery?’ And then later asked what was the source of funds, I gave my NEXUS card and Drivers license, he said he cannot accept nexus card but most banks accept nexus card as offical ID, not only that he was discriminating, he treated me like a thie... read more
