I was in Ottawa helping my aging mother prepare to downsize her home before a move, and needed to withdraw a substantial amount of cash to pay movers and labourers. Avoid this bank if you rely on modern tech. Catastrophic service. On July 15th, I purposely left my checking at $0.00 and I made a $908.91 Square instant transfer to it so it's easier to distribute the funds. Since I have NO overdraft protection, RBC approved my debit transactions because the funds were fully available. Overnight, their system glitched, placed a hold on the deposit after the fact, and threw my account into a -$702.80 balance.
