Ray's art class has provided me with skills I never thought I was capable of. I've always enjoyed art and maintained my skills throughout time but had always wondered how to draw and paint in a more realist style. These classes have given me the knowledge and confidence to pursue and achieve this and I have been pleasantly surprised with my work as it evolves. Best art class I’ve ever taken! Ray is an amazing teacher, his passion for art is infectious and his students are all so welcoming. His studio is a great space to learn how to draw and paint, from beginners to accomplished artists, you never stop learning. The art I’ve produced since attending his classes is a credit to his teaching skills, it’s amazing what you can do with the right guidance. A*!
Ray takes you through the journey from absolute beginner (like me), learning how to draw lines with a pencil, right the way through to charcoal portraits and oil paintings. If you want to start your art journey, or improve on your more advanced skills, don't hesitate - give a it a go!
Highly recommend Ray Coffey as an art teacher. I started with Ray’s charcoal workshop to learn the basics of drawing and now go to his casual paint session once a fortnight. Ray taught me colour theory and how to use oils. I was a complete beginner but now have some really nice pieces hanging in my home. You pick a painting or photo and Ray will teach you how to paint it. He stores my paintings at his studio so it’s very convenient, especially when I’m there infrequently. Ray is an incredibly warm and generous teacher who will help you achieve art that you never knew you were capable of making. His lessons reignited my passion for drawing and gave me the confidence to do an art degree. Recommend 10/10!
