This was my 2nd time staying with Bookie at Rambling Roots Hostel and I can't say enough good things. The beds are comfy, there's plenty of room to move about, even with other hikers staying there, and it is well stocked up to accommodate hiker needs. And Bookie provides excellent shuttle service! Highly recommend!
Rambling Roots is an awesome place to stay. Bookie is really cool and very accommodating. As a past thru hiker, she knows what a hiker and rafter needs. She’ll get you to wherever you need to go. Thank you, Bookie! I’m sure I’ll be back.

What an amazing hostel! Primarily set up to support Appalachian Trail hikers...it is so immaculate and we'll thought out. The owner completed a thru-hike herself, and has painstakingly thought of everything. I wish I had taken a picture of the Great Room upstairs and the showers. The showers and separate bathrooms are fantastic. Honestly I predict that this becomes the go-to hostel at the NOC and that it becomes pretty legendary on the trail. Great comfort, excellent beds with power and phone charging
