I recently started Banking with Alterna because my “Big” Bank’s customer service became less than helpful!! I had a personal Banking officer at my “Big” Bank, whom I dealt with for decade's, up and left without any notice to me. The Bank manager did not call or notify me of her absence. I’m glad I never choose alterna savings as my bank. My colleague had her account hacked. If the bank was so smart they should have simple VPN protection against this and should’ve known a random location wasn’t Belleville - where she lives. The bank then let the hacker update her E-transfer status to over $6,000 when it had a previous limit of $500. The hacker deposited a few fake cheques and took the money by sending it to another account. She made a police report and the bank said it was all her fault. The amount was only ... read more
