You travel to most populated Asian countries and you see the public transport specially the railway is reliable and impeccable. QLD Railway unfortunately is one of the least reliable compared to most developed even developing countries. Always regular maintenance, signalling issues, etc. The train closure was planned to be until 10 April and suddenly they extended that until 30 April. I recently was lucky enough to travel on the ‘spirit of the outback’ train to Longreach. A 26 hour journey which was fabulous. I had a sleeper carriage which was extremely comfortable. There are toilets and showers on the train as well as a dining car, where the food was really lovely. There is also a lounge car that you can go and have a drink. 50 cents fares 50 cents service, but when the fares was normal fares it was still a poor service. You do not feel my frustrations, because you know I gave the same feedback about the same issues several times over years of nothing being said or done of passengers blocking the doors not moving in, with feet and bags on the seat, playing music or talking loud with all the carriage hearing, not allowing passengers to get off the train, at stations standing in front of seats not allowing others to sit down and using the stairs a... read more
The trains don't run on time, and you are forced to take buses to your destination. Roma Street station is a complete joke!! Pathetic service that isn't worth the 50 cents!! The commissioner for railways should be sacked for incompetence. Why don't you look at your google reviews, you have a 2.1 star rating. Your a joke!!
