Although we were not their clients, we had to suffer the consequences of our buyers using Gould and Swayne for their conveyancing. The process of selling our home took over 8 months due to what we can only describe as incompetence and a total lack of understanding about buying a home on an estate that is not quite completed.
As part of a property transaction that I was purchasing via my company, my lender required that I obtained independent legal advice on the conditions of the mortgage. Having had the appointment with Harriet, my other solicitors dealing with the transaction then informed me that the wrong form had been completed (not Harriet’s fault). I work for a housing developer and we use Gould and Swayne for all our transactions (both industrial and residential). They have always offered an exceptional service. Jason Legg in particular is one of the most conscientious Solicitors you could instruct although all the staff are very helpful. I would definitely recommend them 100%.
I have had many dealings with Gould & Swyane (Wells), usually for conveyancing and commercial leases. I have mostly corresponded with Jason Legg and Gian Floris. Both are knowledgeable and have dealt with matters in a very efficient and timely manner. I find their pricing competitive and will continue to use Gould & Swayne in the future as we have built up a great business relationship.
This is a shocking excuse for a solicitors firm and would recommend to anyone thinking about employing their services for any conveyancing issues to think twice. There is an apparent lack of competence in the firm as well as an arrogance in how they deal with their paying clients. The MD Charles spoke to us in a manner which was unbecoming of a director of a solicitors practice. We wasted a lot of time and money with this firm and we hope no-one else suffers the same fate.
