Dr. Elkady wanted me to pay her to re-diagnose me for a condition that I already have been diagnosed with from another doctor. She also lied to me about what kind of test I was actually taking. She also wouldn’t provide the proper medication for said condition without her own diagnosis. After offering to refund me my last appointment, she wanted me to sign a document stating that I wouldn’t leaving an online review of her. What a joke.
I went through a 20 day process of jumping through hoops to try to see this doctor. I filled out a very long form, provided documentation to the office, etc., when suddenly I was asked to "explain why I was switching doctors". After explaining this in a very long and somewhat emotional email, I was rejected and told that this office would not be a good fit for me with no further explanation given. I was very disappointed and felt misled by all the glowing reviews on Google, so I decided to leave one of my own.
I reached out for an evaluation and was immediately turned off by their consent form. The first 3/4 of the form was essentially discussing insurance and had a threatening undertone of charging out of pocket fees for accidental internet disconnection. Then the last couple of questions asked about medication history and why you want to be seen. If someone is reaching out for mental health help, you probably shouldn’t make them feel financially threatened right off the bat.
Dr. Elkady is truly the best. I’ve never had a provider who makes me feel this comfortable and understood. She never rushes through appointments and is always so informative. I finally feel seen and heard, which means everything. I’d especially recommend her to other women who think they may have been misdiagnosed or overlooked with ADHD.
