Best Knitting-Yarn Shop in NYC! – I have been knitting for at least 4 years and I've been to numerous yarn/knitting shops in and around NYC as well as online and I must say that Purl is the best! The shop is located in a great Soho neighborhood. I admit that the shop is small but it's cozy and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Good Selection – Purl has a good selection and a super friendly staff, they'll speak with you about your projects and even help you out. Not to mention they've been known to play some pretty cool music as well! The place is tiny, but that is really it's only flaw.
Wonderful collection, good price! – I am amazed when i stepped into the store. There are so many cool fabrics like Amy Butler's(which is what I was looking for). The prices are very reasonable as compared even to Ebay. However, some of their really simple designs can cost a lot. You will also find a lot of cool fabrics from various designers. Incredible customer service – Lovely knitting shop, small but great interesting yarns. On a busy Saturday, the owner took time out to explain to a brand new knitter basic sweater construction and design ideas. I overheard the coversation and she really went into detail. Wow. These people obviously care about the art and craft of knitting, but they also care about their customers!
