Was there in early September. Holidaying in Christchurch, and the drive alone to Opuke is amahhzing! Especially at winter's end with the snowy alps in view. Booked the 4hrs in the thermal pools and it was bliss!! The most traumatic experience of my life happened at Ōpuke, where I nearly lost my life because no lifeguard helped me or my daughter, they just watched as I sank in the water. I truly hope no one else ever has to go through the same experience.

Pools are lovely. The price is a bit expensive for a short amount of time. It’s a lot cheaper heading to hanmer for the whole day but to end this on a positive note, I enjoyed the fresh air on my face, mini games outside for the kids (family area) and the scenery was a 10/10 honestly it’s just the price that bothered me, the place is lovely.

View was fantistic. But staff were pretty unfriendly. I didn't expect big smile or greeting. But looked like no one wanted to work here. Life guards were standing but when something happened they didn't do anything. I was thinking 'do they have right certificates and got trained as a life guard?' unfortunately I would not visit again and not recommend this place. Very disappointed
